Dear Daddy,
When I woke up this morning, mommy begged me to be bright eyed for our skype conversation. I was looking forward to meeting Jeanne and Craig but my eyes grew heavy just before you called and although I tried my best to stay up- which mom and Nonna interpreted as my being fussy- I was eventually rocked to sleep by Nonna. I'm sorry I missed you. Mom says you had a great chat and she's happy you have such great friends keeping you company while you're away.
Boy, do I have an appetite! I have been eating every hour- which doesn't give mom much of a chance for rest but keeps me happy! Mom was so busy feeding me today that she didn't shower and change until 2:00pm. She decided not to take me out to visit the twins given my frequent feedings. Uncle Stephen and Aunt Sharon of course understood.
We're all assuming I'm going through a growth spurt. It could last anywhere from a few days to a week. Mom hopes to learn more when she goes to the breastfeeding clinic on Tuesday. Even though she doesn't feel she needs to go the clinic as much as she felt a need earlier this week, she's keeping the appointment in hopes of receiving confirmation that my new feeding patterns and behaviours are normal. This affirmation will give her peace of mind. Also, they may weigh me and mom is curious about my weight gain. There's definitely been a gain this week, but how much?
Mom and I got out for a brief walk today. We both enjoyed the sun and fresh air. Mom thought I would fall asleep but I stayed up the whole time listening to the birds and feeling the breeze on my face.
I hope you have a happy Monday daddy. It's interesting to me that it's Monday for you but Sunday for me. One day you will have to explain time zones to me.
Love,
Sarah
Jeanne and Craig were excited to meet you. I showed them some pictures...and it brought tears to my eyes of just how precious you are. Make sure you treat mommy well and don't grow too quickly. I hope you have a great day with Nona S and mommy and I look forward to seeing about you soon and hearing about your new adventures.
ReplyDeletePS - I'll be sure to explain the time zones to you. Mommy still struggles with 'em so hopefully you got my numbers smarts ;)
PS - I love you!
